This Saturday, March 7th, the 11th annual “Mothers of Rock” is taking place at UMass Lowell. This event, produced by UMass Lowell’s Music and Entertainment Student Association (MEISA) is a rare opportunity to see a huge production right in Lowell for little to no cost. That’s because admission is donation based, with donations benefiting Girls Inc. of Lowell.
Girls Inc. is a non-profit agency that serves girls ages 5-18 from a variety of backgrounds with after school programs. The concert features music made popular by female musicians and includes a diverse array of performances from both students and faculty of UMass Lowell, along with community members. This year, acts are paying tribute to Amy Winehouse, Paramore, Adele, Beyonce, Whitney Houston, and many more. The event includes a professional light show, bake sale, raffle and headlining performance by Ruby Rose Fox and her 9 piece band. This is an event that grows each year and is not to be missed!
