African Festival

The African festival is one of the major activities sponsored by the African Cultural Association, Inc. Now into its fifth year, the African Festival is standing tall and continues to attract Africans and lovers of African culture from all over Massachusetts and beyond. The African Festival has also opened up an opportunity for Africans to unite with their African-American brothers and sisters as they continue to influence each other through the richness of their shared cultures.

Each year, the Festival transforms downtown Lowell for three days – that’s the last full weekend in July. Six music stages are prominently placed across the city, offering varied settings and styles of performances.

Lowell Puerto Rican Festival

The Committee of the Puerto Rican Festival " Hijos de Borinquen " have been organizing their annual celebration of the Puerto Ricans in the city of the Lowell, Massachusetts, since 1980. Through out the years, our community has given Lowell an introduction to Puerto Rican customs, which include music, ethnic food, dance, poetry, drama and speeches.

 

Lowell Quilt Festival

The Lowell Quilt Festival is held annually for the benefit of the New England Quilt Museum, and features: the juried Images quilt show, with cash prizes in several categories starting in 2007, an exhibit of antique quilts, an exhibit specially chosen for the festival at the New England Quilt Museum, classes and lectures by nationally acclaimed teachers, auctions of quilts and quilt-related items, quilt appraisals, vendors of quilting supplies from New England and beyond. In addition, many of the Lowell cultural organizations hold quilt-related events during the festival.

 

One Lowell World Cup 2010

The ONE Lowell World Cup is a 16-Team International Soccer Tournament held at Lowell's Cawley Stadium. Each year draws more competitive teams and a larger crowd -- come celebrate the 3rd year of this fabulous tournament!

 

Southeast Asian Water Festival

The Lowell Southeast Asian Water Festival, Inc. is dedicated to the preservation, protection and sharing of the cultural heritages of the Southeast Asian Americans of Greater Lowell, Massachusetts area. Every 3rd Saturday in August, more than 60,000 people from around the country and the world come to Lowell to celebrate water as it is celebrated in Southeast Asia. They come for the blessings, food, crafts, performances and the races.
